More than 10,000 prints, drawings, sculptures, paintings, and media works dating from the 1490s to the present day.
The collection also holds prize-winning student work from the Slade School of Art including from important 20th-century British artists such as Stanley Spencer, Augustus John, Edward Wadsworth and Paula Rego.
Exhibitions, research and teaching are at the core of the museum's work, and this is reflected in the organisation of the multipurpose museum space. The exhibitions programme is built around collaborations - with researchers from other disciplines, contemporary artists, other museums and university art collections.
The Art Museum is part of UCL Culture, which also includes the Grant Museum of Zoology and the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.
